About Us
How Lir Steel Works Started
Located in Castlepollard, Co Westmeath, my venture into the realm of wrought iron gate work began with a simple curiosity about local demand. Within a span of just one year, Lir Steel Works has flourished, boasting a team of four full-time employees alongside myself, and complemented by a part-time worker. Our range extends beyond wrought iron gates and railings to encompass a comprehensive array of steel fences, coupled with a CNC plasma cutting service and on-demand mobile welding capabilities.
The growth and success of Lir Steel Works owe much to the invaluable support and mentorship extended by fellow businesses. Their guidance has not only facilitated our operational prowess but has also significantly contributed to our financial stability.
About the Founder
John Cogan
Owner / Managing Director.
When the Covid-19 pandemic struck, I John Cogan, was only four days into a new job as a fabricator with a midlands company. Finding myself temporarily unemployed and on the Pandemic Unemployment Payment. I decided to investigate whether there might be an opening for wrought iron gates and railings in my local area of Castlepollard, Co Westmeath.
Lir Steel Works, has increased their workforce threefold since startup and continues to grow from strength to strength.
